A 20 minute piece

In a gathering hall at The Art Academy in Malmö, three performers present the concept of “Cognitive Acrobatics”. The performers are dressed in their iconic aerobics clothes as they hold a lecture about the strenuous mental activity needed to accommodate the struggles of everyday life. They bring their own mental pathways with them, which can be seen behind them in the hall’s kitchen. The yarn, with which they previously struggled to get through, is now decorating said kitchen in a weblike fashion.

As a continuation of the performance made at Inter Arts Center, we decided to rework the project as a performative installation. Just as with “a small space” the context of an art institution greatly influences the piece and the space for reflection. This performance is a dialogue with the expectations of the space and the specific audience that inhabit it during the event of the Annual Exhibition.
